I was kind of wondering about the decorating contest this year – heck, you better hurry…the application’s due this evening! Here’s the rest of the story, from Vernadel at the Chamber of Commerce:
The San Juan Island Chamber of Commerce is busy with plans for the 2009 Island Lights Fest Christmas Decorating Contest in the town of Friday Harbor. The Christmas Committee encourages all businesses to decorate in the spirit of the season and light up the town!
Festive ribbons will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes and cash prizes will be awarded for all 1st place winners and the Grand Prize winner will have the opportunity to turn on the lights during the Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 4 at 6 pm.
Judging for the contest will be Thursday evening, December 3, starting at 5:00 pm.
The deadline for entry is Tuesday, December 1. Pick up entry forms at the Chamber office, call 378-5240 or email chamber (at) sanjuanisland.org for further information.
