This past week the folks at Islanders Bank and the San Juan Island Celebrity Golf Classic have a big announcement: the annual event has signed on Islanders as the major sponsor for this year. At the end of this posting, you’ll get an idea of the folks coming to this year’s June event – it’s pretty cool when this many people come together to help the eleven non-profits that get helped each year. (Here’s more, on the Tourney’s website.) Thank you!

Here’s more from the committee:

The Big Unit has been invited to this year's event....

We are proud today to announce a long term agreement with our own ISLANDER’S BANK who now become the “Title Sponsor” of our annual San Juan Celebrity Classic Golf Tournament. They’ve also come up with a most salient slogan that really trumpets the importance of our community having a bank that is local. Their slogan is, “The Buck Stays Here!” Exemplifying that slogan, is there large contribution to this long running event which spreads its returns among eleven local non-profit organizations.

Also, we are proud to announce that the winning team will have their names engraved in a perpetual trophy, This trophy will be titled “The John Linde, Islander’s Bank” trophy which will be permanently displayed in the lobby of the bank. This in tribute to our late beloved judge and friend, who played in this tournament each and every year and always gave so much to our community.

June 4th & 5th are the dates this year. San Juan Golf and Country Club is the place. Yes, the big and now famous Community Salmon Barbeque will again invite all to join in the big tent, and meet the celebrities at the course on that Saturday night.

A list of expected celebrities is posted below.
Thank you!
