Leslie at the Animal Shelter & a few friends are off to help & learn in Utah – here’s more:
UTAH OR BUST!!
The staff and some of the volunteers at the Friday Harbor Animal Shelter are getting ready for their journey to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah. The gang will be heading south on May 17th for a 3-day educational retreat at the largest animal rescue facility in the country.
They will be volunteering their time working with over 1500 homeless dogs, cats, horses, pigs and other domestic animals. The group has been raising money on their own with small fundraisers to help pay for the trip. They will be holding one more fundraiser on Sat May 8th at Bailer Hill Farm where they will be holding the Mother’s Day Orchid & Bake Sale between 9am – 12pm. The shelter will continue to be open during their absence with board members and volunteer staff running the shelter operations.
