Oliver’s passing…

Oliver

Just got this sad news from Leslie at the Animal Shelter:

Last night was a very sad day at the Friday Harbor Animal Shelter.  Oliver, a 22 year old tabby cat and longtime shelter resident, passed away due to age and progressing illness.

Oliver was well known by all who came to the shelter, as he frequently greeted visitors in the parking lot.  Oliver came to the shelter as a stray in August of 2005 and has been the shelter mascot and front office cat ever since.  He frequently sat in on monthly board meetings in his own chair enjoying good conversation and cheesy popcorn.

He even had his own commentary section in the shelter newsletter called ‘Oliver’s Corner’.  The shelter staff was with Oliver during his peaceful passing.  We will miss you, old friend.
