Calling artists, to work with the kids….

It’s so cool what Leisha Holmes and the IMA are doing to bring & keep & nurture art in the schools – and now, there’s a way for other artists to give a hand. Here’s more, from Leisha:

The Island Museum of Art and Washington State Arts Commission have helped fund a new program that will bring quality art instruction to Friday Harbor Elementary students. This Teaching Artist Residency  program at Friday Harbor Elementary will connect classrooms in grades K-4 with teaching artists who live on San Juan Island.

Artists will work with one grade level for 6 weeks. Interested applicants should send  resume to  leishaholmes (at) sjisd.wednet.edu. or mail a copy to San Juan Island School District c/o Leisha Holmes, PO Box 458, Friday Harbor, WA 98250.
