SVC Open Enrollment for Winter Quarter

svc-open-enrollmentOpen Enrollment for Winter Quarter is going on now at Skagit Valley College. Classes begin Tuesday, January 6.

For students who want to train for a new career or upgrade their job skills, SVC’s Professional / Technical programs are aligned with local and state economic development strategies.  High demand areas include:

  • Composites/Aerospace
  • Manufacturing Technology
  • Sustainable Agriculture
  • Environmental Conservation, including SVC’s baccalaureate degree
  • Homeland Security
  • Tourism and Hospitality

SVC also offers Academic Transfer pathways for students who want to begin their college experience and earn a bachelor’s degree.  By completing two years at SVC and then transferring to a four-year university, students can study close to home and save money, compared to tuition at a four-year school.  For Fall Quarter, options include:

  • Associate in Arts – Direct Transfer Agreement with concentration areas in:
    • Art, Music, and Drama
    • Computer Science
    • Communications, English
    • History
    • Math
    • Psychology
    • Social Science
    • Elementary Education
  • Major Ready Programs
    • Biology and Business
  • Associate in ScienceTransfer
    • Track 1: Chemistry, (also for Pre-Med, Pre-Veterinary, Pre-Pharmacy)
    • Track 2: Computer Science, Physics, Engineering
  • Other Degrees
    • Associate in Music – transfers to WWU
    • Associate in Visual Arts – transfers to WSU
    • Early Childhood Education – see Professional Technical Programs

    • PRE-NURSING ATA (RN, non-transfer)
    • PRE-NURSING DTA (transfer to BSN)
