Animal Shelter to Host Second Annual Dodie Gann Memorial Dog Walk

The 2nd Annual Dodie Gann Memorial Dog Walk will take place May 30 at 11:00 at Skagit Valley Community College, 221 Weber Way in Friday Harbor. Dogs and their people will enjoy a one mile round trip walk from the college to the animal shelter. Afterwards, participants will enjoy a Pet-Lover’s Fair, featuring lunch and refreshments by Cynthia’s of Course.
Participants are urged to gather sponsors for the event, with all proceeds going to the Animal Shelter. The three people who raise the most money in sponsorships will be awarded prizes. The first place prize is a Microsoft Surface Tablet.
Those who wish to participate can pick up a registration/sponsorship form at the animal shelter, 111 Shelter Road or at participating retailers, including:
- The Barking Bird
- Friday Harbor Pet Supplies
- Harbor Veterinary Hospital
- Island Veterinary Hospital
Dodie Gann, who passed away in 2013 was one of the original founders of The Animal Protection Society.
