One of Washington states rarest plants grows right here on San Juan Island! Interested in learning more? Washington’s Rare Plant Botanist Joe Arnett and Ecologist Dr. Peter Dunwiddie will share their knowledge about the beautiful and mysterious golden paintbrush (Castilleja levisecta). Participants will learn about golden paintbrush ecology, why the plant is so rare, and what’s being done to restore it in the islands and beyond.
