Jen and Jacquelyn over at The Studio are introducing a new instructor and yoga class and they want you to know about it. Here they are with what you need to know…

The Studio is pleased to introduce Miguele de Quadros and add Yoga with Gyrotonic Principles to our class schedule beginning in May. We invite you to attend 2 free introductory classes on 4/18 & 4/25 at 12:15pm. This specialized yoga practice awakens the senses, stimulates the nervous system, and activates the body using breath. Moving fluidly through sequences, physical and mental blocks dissolve away, allowing the body to open up in new ways.

Created by Hilary Cartwright, a soloist with the Royal Ballet, this style of yoga incorporates elements of Kundalini and Hatha techniques, as well as Taoist principles. Hilary’s unique approach is now being taught by a select group of trainers to a wide range of students, including seniors and dancers at Paris Opera Ballet and American Ballet Theatre.

As a 10 year old ballet student, Miguele was first introduced by Magali Messac to the Gyrotonic Expansion System®. It has been an integral part of her life in and out the dance studio ever since.

In 2012, she began regularly attending Yoga with Gyrotonic Principles workshops with Hilary Cartwright, and was chosen to be a part of her mentorship program in 2015. She is honored to be part of the first group to teach her work and says:

“The Gyrotonic® System not only dramatically improved my strength, coordination, and flexibility; it also helped prevent injuries and increased my physical awareness. After each workout, I find a sense of balance and am reminded that I am capable of much more than I previously thought. I love that this work continues to evolve so people with varied backgrounds can benefit. I work with a wide range of clients, and adapt my teaching approach to reach everyone and help find ways to overcome perceived limitations.”

Please join us for our free demo classes on April 18th and 25th at 12:15pm to experience this unique yoga stretch class for yourself!
