The Wells Fargo Celebrity Classic, June 3rd and 4th

On June 3rd and 4th the Wells Fargo Celebrity Classic will have one of Seattle’s all time favorite stars, Edgar Martinez, play in the tournament, which will be held at the San Juan Golf & Country Club. Other celebrities include Huskies football coach Ty Willingham, Motorsports Hall of Famer Chip Hanauer, Jeff “The Fish” Aaron of KRKO-AM, Ichabod Caine, radio personality from KMPS-FM., Larry Kaminski, retired center for the Denver Broncos from 1966 to 1973, Bruce King, former KOMO-TV sports reporter, Jim Moore, the Go-To Guy at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Michael Powers, jazz guitarist who has shared billings with piano giant Herbie Hancock, Alan White, drummer for the rock group Yes.

Pat O’Day says, “If you don’t play in our tournament, which we hope you will, then definitely want to come to our salmon dinner on Saturday night and meet Edgar Martinez.”

Team events include the Horse Race, Putting Challenge and on Saturday, the Best Ball Match. The participation fee for the Golf Classic is $150.00. Registration Forms are available at the San Juan Golf and County Club, Wells Fargo, Friday Harbor Branch, and at the John L. Scott office.

12 local non-profits, Animal Protection Society, Band Family & Friends, Boy Scouts Troop 90, Kids Club, Compass Health, Family Resource Center, Junior Golf Program, Mullis Community Senior Center, Primary Intervention Program, Purple & Gold, San Juan Historical Museum, and Wolf Hollow Wildlife Rehabilitation Center are the sole beneficiaries of the Golf Classic. There will be a silent auction all day, Saturday, the 4th, and the annual Salmon Dinner.

In addition, this year on Friday, June 3rd, there will be the Pat O’Day/John L. Scott $25,000.00 Hole in One Contest, with a chance to win $25,000. Participants buy golf balls and the proceeds go to the non-profits.

Wells Fargo is the main sponsor and is providing volunteers, promotional help, shirts for celebrities and golf balls.
