Merry Christmas to all my friends and family. I am sending this out to everyone for a prayer request. My sister Maria's youngest, Sadie Madison Madrigal 4 y/o was diagnosed with Atonic Seizures last Feb. 14, 2007. Since then her seizures have increased to an average of 20 - 50 a day. She has been to Children's Hospital in Seattle several times, the last 2 weeks ago for 10 days for medication adjustment, management control and diagnostic testing.
So far they cannot come up with a reason for the seizures or how to best manage them. It is very frustrating for all of us, especially for Maria and the rest of her family. She has 3 other children, Zandra 14y/o, Zachary 13 y/o, Paris An 10 y/o and of course her husband. They all fear the worst possible scenario.
We are having a mixed Christmas, Sadie has been to the hospital 2 times in the last 3 days, they flew her and Maria off the island Sunday night to Children's. She spent all day Sunday at the emergency room in Anacortes, did a spinal tap thinking she had meningitis, thank God it wasn't, but that night after coming home, she doubled over in pain, screaming her stomach hurt. That's when they flew them off. We prayed that it was just for the day and it was, seems she has developed a severe stomach flu and dehydration and they found out one of the medications has started to affect her bone marrow, which is now discontinued.
She mostly sleeps, or cries, it's so sad, she is not the same person she was 10 months ago. We are asking everyone to pray for her well being. She doesn't even realize it is Christmas, it took all day for her to open her presents but she is was not there.
I don't mean to rain on your parade, during this Christmas season, but I am asking for all my friends and family to please pray for her. Thank you. Z
