Preview for Spring Session:
Plus size Yoga Workshop with Yoga Northwest (Bellingham) Iyengar-based Instructor Charlotte Sather on Saturday, March 24th.

Classes can be purchased by the hour for a drop-in price of $12 or by the session, one class per week at the price of $10 per class. As additional classes are added to the schedule, an overall session punch card will be available for purchase which will reduce the price of each class significantly and allow unlimited attendance to any class available within the session.

Private instruction sessions are available by appointment, designed to meet the needs of the individual. Private sessions of Yoga, Reiki, Restorative Yoga and the combination of Restorative Yoga and Reiki are available by the hour and half hour. Private session fees vary by instructor.

Because of the intimacy of the studio size, class sizes will be small with capacity for 10-12 students. Namaste suggests that students arrive at least 15 minutes early for classes. Class schedules will be available at the studio and posted on the window. Namaste Yoga and Reiki Studio will provide mats, blocks, straps and blankets at no additional cost to students.

Namaste Yoga and Reiki Studio welcomes Shelley Drennan. Shelley started practicing yoga as a teenager in Portland, Oregon. After a break, she resumed practicing Yoga and has been practicing Yoga for 15 years. Shelley began her Yoga training at the Integral Yoga Institute in New York and completed Yoga teacher training at the Yoga Tree in Seattle in 2000. She went on to complete additional advanced training with master teachers Ana Forrest and Donna Farhi in 2001, Dona Holleman in 2002 and Eric Schiffman in 2003. Shelley has been teaching extensively in the Pacific Northwest for six years and currently teaches private lessons, as well as at the University of Washington Medical School and in the San Juan Islands. Shelley emphasizes alignment principles, stillness and the connection to breath in movement and meditation. Shelley uses elements of Iyengar and Integral Yoga in her approach. Shelley will be teaching every other Saturday at Namaste Yoga and Reiki Studio beginning on February 3rd, 2007 at 10 am.

Owner and Yoga Instructor Cathi Brewer, has been teaching for four years. She has completed over 200 hours of teacher training, through the instruction of Judith Hanson-Lasater, Felicity Green and Pacific Yoga Teacher Training, under the direction of Theresa Elliott and Kathryn Payne. Cathi holds an Advanced Teaching Certificate in Restorative Yoga in the Relax and Renew (registered) style developed by Judith Hanson-Lasater. Cathi teaches in the tradition of BKS Iyengar, a type of Yoga which concentrates on the precision of alignment in each pose and the intent of the breath in movement and stillness. Cathi also is a second level Reiki practitioner in the Usui Reiki Lineage. Restorative Yoga is a quiet, receptive Yoga practiced by students completely supported by bolsters and blankets. This type of Yoga activates the parasympathetic nervous system, allowing the mind and body to achieve a deep state of relaxation. Restorative Yoga is ideal for those who need to give themselves and their bodies some loving kindness. Restorative Yoga combined with Reiki is a powerful therapeutic tool, helping to alleviate stress, chronic pain and even menopausal symptoms. Cathi teaches with a playful style but with great emphasis on the safety and stability of each pose. Cathi strives to help each person see the beauty in Yoga for everyday life.

Instructor Genevieve Kenny completed her teacher training in Integral Yoga, a style using a variety of poses which strengthens and tones all systems of the body. Genevieve teaches Yoga with goal to help people increase good health in mind and body. Genevieve also has an extensive background in dance and movement instruction.
