SKY, TERRA, SEA Elements of Photography in The Islands Westcott Bay Institute and the Island Museum of Art are pleased to announce SKY, TERRA, SEA: Elements of Photography in The Islands, as their opening exhibit of the 2007 season. This is a group exhibit showcasing the work of seven local photographers: Kathy Ballard, Sondra Bayley, Kim Bertrand, Michael Bertrand, Robert Demar, Peter Fromm, and Mark Gardner. The title SKY, TERRA, SEA is the inspiration behind the exhibit. These three elements are the essence of the San Juan Islands. The coming together of water, land and sky is a part of what makes these islands so beautiful and so special. Each artist will present their own interpretation of these unique elements as they have experienced them here in our Pacific Northwest. The formats displayed will range from film to digital, and from archival prints to canvas. Plan now to experience the islands through the eyes of these local photographers as they explore the SKY, TERRA, SEA of the San Juans. Please join us as we celebrate not only the new season of exhibits but our wonderful environment as well. The Artists’ reception will be held on the evening of March 9, 2007, from 5-7 at the Island Museum of Art, 314 Spring Street, Friday Harbor. Please call the Museum at (360) 370-5050 for more information pertaining to this event. The Exhibit will run through April 21, 2007. Museum hours are 11:00am-5:00pm, Tuesdays through Saturdays. The Island Museum of Art would like to thank our generous sponsors of SKY, TERRA, SEA: Coldwell Banker San Juan Islands, Inc., Rainshadow Photographics, Michael Bertrand Photography, and the Town of Friday Harbor Lodging Tax Fund.
