Hate to waste a perfectly good numerically interesting day, don’t ya think?
(Besides being Nancy Hanson’s birthday – she had one on 9/9/99, too – the San Juan Update for 9/9/99 also mentions the great Orcas dock munch – when the Elwha’s nav computer went silent & the boat took out the wingwall at the ferry landing there. In those original reports we reported the repairs would take a week, but that island had no ferry service for another six weeks. Remember that? It’s near the bottom of this page under “Elwha takes out Orcas dock”….)
