A memorial service for John Linde is planned for 11:30 a.m Saturday., at Friday Harbor Presbyterian Church, with a reception afterwards at 1 p.m. at the Yacht Club.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports that a full autopsy will be conducted early this week to determine the cause of John Linde’s death last Thursday in Hawaii, while the San Juan Islander reports that a family friend said over the weekend that the cause was cardiac arrest.

Meanwhile, there has been an outpouring of feeling – there are dozens of comments on the Facebook page titled: “John O. Linde, San Juan County Superior Court Judge”…check it & add your thoughts. (Gotta be a Facebook member….)

Looking at the Facebook remarks is a good way to see the incredible reach John had with this community – his work touched so many people around the islands. And judging by people’s reactions, and tears, over the weekend, he is much missed and fondly remembered.
