Game over! Friday Harbor celebrates their victory over visiting Meridian on Tuesday afternoon...

Not your usual game…

FHHS pitcher Jean Melborne led the team from the mound...

Yesterday afternoon’s softball game was a little different, but won the girls a trip to the postseason anyway…FHHS had played Meridian Saturday and ten-runned ’em (in high school ball, if you’re ahead of someone after four innings, the game’s over), but the Trojans successfully appealed with the league & won a protest over a call in the then-third inning in that game.

That set things up for a continuation of the game from the time of that call, which was played in yesterday’s late afternoon sun.

The Wolverines won 8-2, and now play out the rest of their schedule this week and next before heading to the playoffs late next week. I’ll let you know as soon as I know details about where & when on that – in the meantime, Go Wolverines!
