Politics and the San Juans: Meet Republican Candidates!

Posted June 25, 2012 at 10:16 pm by

If you’re interested in getting some face time in with Republican candidates this weekend, look no further! Here’s more from GOP County Chair Michelle Loftus:

Prominent names such as Kirby Wilbur, the Washington State Republican Party Chair, Rob McKenna, Atty General, Dan Matthews, candidate for US Congress, and John Swapp, candidate for Washington State Senate, will all be on Orcas on Saturday, June 30th. They will enjoy a 10:00am Orcas Breakfast in the Anders Hanger Eastsound Airport before going to the Orcas Farmer’s Market from 11-12pm in Eastsound. After looking over the goodies at the market and chatting with the crowd, a few (McKenna, Matthews, and Swapp) will travel to San Juan Island.

At 3:30pm there will be a free Meet and Greet open to the public at the Port’s Fairweather Park totem poles. The candidates are interested in hearing the voice of the citizens and addressing their concerns. Later, a lighthouse/wildlife cruise on the San Juan Safaris Sea Lion will show what a beautiful, unique county we live in for all the candidates. Advance ticket purchase is required to tag along on the cruise. If interested, Michelle Lofus can be reached at 379-4738.
