Ninjas on stage!

Remember Pat & Stella who used to work with Zip San Juan? They just saw this show a couple of weeks ago on Whidbey Island, and said it was awesome & not to miss it. Here’s the scoop from Jan Bollwinkel-Smith:

Ancient mystics, kung-faux ninjas and acrobats join together for a one-of-a-kind show on the Whittier stage THIS Sunday, October 28 at 5:00 pm.

The Jacket is the latest concoction from Port Townsend’s multi-talented quartet, NANDA. The group combines comedy, juggling, acrobatics, martial arts, video, music, dance and pop-culture referencesinto a live action show for children and adults. NANDA’s website introduction to The Jacket describes its theme:

“In the time before the sun ancient mystical people craft a magical jacket of incredible power. The awesome forces imbued into the garment plunge the harmonic balance of the world into chaos….”

NANDA, formed in 2004, combines the world of performance art with a variety of live entertainment experimentation. The Jacket is the group’s first full-length, independently-produced live theater show.

In addition to The Jacket performance, the group will present an outreach program to Friday Harbor Middle School thanks to a generous grant from the San Juan Island Community Foundation.
