It seems to us that there’s been a lot of discussion about partisan politics regarding the non-partisan District Hospital Board race or, put another way, the allegation that candidates running for the position have an agenda. It’s true, they all have an agenda. All six candidates are supporters of the same particular cause but they differ substantially on their assessment of what needs to be done to continue to improve and maintain the forward progress of Peace Island Medical Center.
Some of the candidates were asked and encouraged to run for this position by the Peace Island Medical board, a non-elected, hand-picked board chosen by Peace Health. The plan of these candidates is to simply not rock the boat since they believe things are “just fine” as they are.
Barbara Sharp, Bill Williams, and Monica Harrington, each possess a different but very important skill set and decided for themselves, that for PIMC to represent a broader range of our residents and move our hospital forward, it is important to bring different viewpoints to the board.
Join us in voting for Barbara, Bill, and Monica for public hospital district because they will not be joined at the hip with the unelected Peace Island Medical Board and will work hard for WE, the taxpayers.
