Victoria Compton for Port of Friday Harbor Commissioner District #3

I am endorsing Victoria Compton for the Port of Friday Harbor Commissioner District #3. Victoria has been an Islander for 30 years. The same period of time her opponent has served as a Port Commissioner.Our island life is changing and the Port of Friday Harbor will be best served by new leadership.  Victoria Compton will fill this leadership need by bringing new energy and community collaboration.

Victoria Compton has helped hundreds of local business get stronger through her role as Executive Director of the Economic Development Council (EDC), a post she has held for over ten years. As the EDC Executive Director, Victoria Compton, in partnership with the community, launched the community broadband initiative. As a result of her efforts, OPALCO took on the task of bringing high speed fiber to San Juan County.

Victoria Compton’s community involvement did not stop with her work at the EDC. She also spearheaded the regional effort to save the Sidney ferry in 2020. Her public service experience also includes the San Juan County Planning Commissioner and the Town of Friday Harbor Lodging Tax Advisory Committee.
