Sam does Seattle….

You’ll remember that I told you (here’s the story) about how Sam Asher was selected as a nominee for the category “Outstanding Performance by an Actor or Actress in a Non-Singing Role” for his work in Grease here last January, by the 5th Avenue Theater. The awards ceremony was last night, and Sam didn’t win, but it sounds like a great evening was had by all…here’s more from proud mom Diana:
Hi, Ian!
Here are some photos from last night. Sam didn’t win but it was all so very exciting and I’ll never ever forget it! The energy in that place was UNBELEIVABLE.
I was overwhelmed at the pride I felt when I heard my son’s name announced and saw his name on the Big Screen in the 5th Avenue Theater.
Jeff, Russell, Britney Ingram, Fred Yockers, Jill Urbach, Denise King, Desi Whalen and Joyce King and I were on the edges of our seats the entire time rooting for all those fabulous kids. So much hooping and hollering from the audience it was deafening. AND, the entertainment the nominees put on was out of this world.
Truly the best Tony Awards-type Ceremony EVER.
That’s Desi and Joyce in costume in the last photo. They were announcing Friday Harbor High School’s play GREASE. Not the best shot but gives you an idea of the stage and the glamour of it all.
Take care,
Diana
