Remember that Gear Up for Schools deal that Islanders Bank & some others were doing? (Here’s the story, from before.) I got the chance to swing by the District office on Monday, and wow, it was cool.
There was a huge stack of backpacks, coloring pens, pencils, crayons, and all kinds of school supplies. It was pretty awesome – Michele Morton from the bank said folks who worked at the drug store kept buying stuff & sticking it in the cans…
This’ll help get kids started right. Thanks, everybody. And thanks, Islanders, from the islanders who care.
