Getting into the swim of things….

When Amy Wynn sent me the note below about swimming lessons coming up this fall, it seems like a good idea to post it (so here it is) but also to ask you to pass it on to folks who maybe don’t have a computer, or who can’t read English, or who otherwise wouldn’t find out about it…so would you?
Here’s the scoop:
San Juan Island Fitness is happy to announce the beginning of Fun-day Mondays and their fall sessions of swim lessons for school age children.
Beginning September 14 and continuing each Fun-day Monday through the end of the year, any child under 15 may swim during the 3-4:30 lifeguarded swim time for just $5. Be sure to sign in at the front desk. Don’t worry, you do not need to be a member or a guest of a member for this special Funday Monday swim. Just don’t forget to bring your towel!
The first session of fall swim lessons–with a bonus hour of free swim time each class–will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays Sept 16 – October 2. Beginners and advanced beginners are at 3:15, Children who can comfortably swim lengths of the pool are at 3:45. Children are invited to come at 3 to swim before their lesson and stay until the end of lifeguard swim at 4:30 pm. Cost is $60 for the six lesson session, club members pay $50. Register by calling the Fitness Center at 378-4449, or drop by the pool located at 435 Argyle Avenue.
Additional swim lesson sessions begin October 7 and November 4.
Coming in October! Parent and Pre-schooler lifeguard swim in the little pool. Pay each time you swim, or buy a money-saving punch card. No class, just drop in for some fun in the water during special lifeguarded times. Dates and times to be announced (feel free to e-mail us and let us know what time works for you!)
Swim team try-outs are the end of October. Get ready with swim lessons, private instruction or swimming some laps.
