The Austin Lounge Lizards will be here Saturday – here’s more from Jan at the Community Theatre:
Knock Your Reptilian Socks Off !
Some of you may remember them from the 2003 San Juan County Fair…and you probably remember laughing to the music…
The Austin Lounge Lizards return to Friday Harbor to help us have a fun Labor Day Weekend when they take to the Whittier stage THIS Saturday, September 5 at 8 pm.
For 29 years, the Lizards have developed their trademark song combination of highly literate, sharply-pointed lyrics that poke fun at politics, love, religion and culture in general. The quintet’s latest single, “Too Big to Fail,” by Lindsey Eck, targets corporate excess and congressional pork and is from an album being worked on by the Lizards, whose all-boy band has been joined by two equally witty women.
The group’s version of Irving Berlin’s “(I’ll See You in) C-U-B-A,” was featured in Michael Moore’s 2007 Sicko, as a flotilla of ailing 9-11 workers seeks medical treatment in Cuba.
