The people who made it….

“Saving Luna” will be here on Thursday evening, and what you may not know is that the filmmakers live just across the way in Sidney, B.C.
Suzanne Chisholm and Michael Parfit are writers and documentary filmmakers who specialize in telling stories of the relationships between people and our natural world.
In 2004, they came to Gold River, Nootka Sound, to cover the story of Luna for Smithsonian magazine. They planned to stay for three weeks. They stayed for three years. They are now writing a book and have produced “Saving Luna,” a feature documentary about Luna.
Providing the score for the film, David Parfit began working for Mountainside Films in 2006. He is a composer, sound recordist and sound designer
Here’s more about the filmmakers, and the here’s more about the showing of the film here. It’s a benefit for Soundwatch, by the way – which is a super reason to get yourself to the Community Theatre on Thursday.
See ya there!
