What’s going on around Town and on the island:
• The San Juan Island Community Events Calendar just added a new part… this should really help event planners as they figure out where to hold their show:
The link from the community calendar listing alternate meeting spaces is officially live: http://www.sanjuancalendar.com/planners.php. You can also get to this by clicking the ‘for planners’ button on the main page of the calendar.
As you will see this is an alphabetical listing of spaces for meetings that the public can use. Information included is venue name and location, capacity, charges, and contact. We’ve already referred folks to this listing and they say it’s pretty useful! And…if you know of any place else we ought to add, just drop me a line at ian (at) byd2.com.
• Do you ever get your e-mail blast all ready to send to all your customers, and since you’re under deadline, you go ahead & hit “send” before you have a chance to review it really closely?
Here’s more about that, from Derek Sivers. You’ll be glad you read his remarks.
And…if you’re setting up a program to do your e-mail blasts, be sure and check out Constant Contact – you’ll love it. (It’s what I use….)
• Afterglow Spa in Roche Harbor tells me they have new hours for the fall. Effective September 29th, Afterglow Spa will be open Thursday – Monday, from 10 am – 6 pm. Enjoy $20 off ANY facial, massage or body treatment through October 31st. View entire spa menu at www.rocheharbor.com or call 360.378.9888.
• The San Juan Islands Visitors Bureau‘s fall membership meeting is going to be on the 29th at the Outlook Inn in Eastsound. I’m telling you now so you can plan…
• Fall clothes – get ’em at Be Chic Boutique on Spring Street – Teri tells me:
Fall has arrived! Now is a GREAT time to review your Fall wardrobe and update with a few key pieces for the season. Whether it’s a fab new pair of boots, the perfect pair of jeans, a cozy new sweater, or a splash of new Fall color – we can get you set!
