FHHS girls beat LaConner; now the playoffs begin!
Posted October 27, 2009 at 5:37 pm by Ian Byington
The FHHS soccer girls closed out one of the more successful seasons in the program’s 15 year history with a 1-0 decision over La Conner on Tuesday, in a game played at Mount Vernon High. The game’s lone goal was scored by senior Alex Freeman early, as the game turned into a defensive battle from there, with senior keeper Hannah Snow & her defense keeping La Conner out of the net.
Now, the playoffs. The team takes its 12-4 record to Oak Harbor Thursday at 1pm to play against the winner of the Coupeville/Meridian game which is being played tomorrow (Wednesday).
Friday Harbor athletic director Rod Turnbull tells me with a win, the girls will play again on Saturday at 2:00; with a loss they will play on Saturday at 12:00. Both of these games would also be at Oak Harbor High.

The only goal was score by Alex Freeman in the third minute ff an Emma Ytander rebound. Hannah Snow had a superb final regular season game in goal, shutting out the Braves.
