Look – I’ll make this easy for ya. Just go to the Schools Foundation webpage (it’s here: http://www.sjpsf.org/) and look on the left side at that button that says “Donate Now!” Click it, then check your home budget & see how much you can spare.
Or wait till next week when the Phone-A-Thon folks call. And this year, there’s a chance to double your donation – here’s the scoop:
The San Juan Public Schools Foundation will hold its annual Phone-A-Thon on Monday, October 19 from 5:00 to 8:00pm. During this time, volunteers will be calling Island families to invite them to contribute towards the Foundation goal of over $50,000 to be matched, dollar for dollar, by the Kings Market and Friday Harbor Marketplace’s corporation, Valmark. This total of $100,000 will be used for textbooks and equipment.
The Foundation is a group of volunteer parents, educators, business leaders, and community sponsors who raise money to make a difference in the classrooms of our school children. They work year-round on projects that put 100% of the proceeds from the Phone-A-Thon, the Knowledge Bowl, the Business Partnership Program and other activities into the classrooms at the public elementary, middle and high schools.
We hope that the community will respond generously again this year for our kids. Parents, faculty and members of the community have volunteered to work the phones the night of the Phone-A-Thon.
On our island community, quality education is everybody’s business. Anyone wanting to support our the matching program can send a donation to the San Juan Public Schools Foundation, P.O. Box 1452, Friday Harbor, WA 98250. If you would like to volunteer your time at the Phone-A-Thon we would be thrilled to have you. Please call at Pamela Williams at 378-.2826.
We need your help to make this Phone-A-Thon a success. Please take this opportunity to double your donation !!!!Thank you for helping to make a difference in our classrooms.
You can support the San Juan Update by doing business with our loyal advertisers, and by making a one-time contribution or a recurring donation.
