Judi Mio offered this note of thanks on behalf of our friends at Hospice & the other non-profits who were recognized by the Community Foundation at the Breakfast of Champions in late September:
On September 25, 2009, Friday, the San Juan Island Community Foundation held its annual “Breakfast of Champions” to award funds to local organizations. Our non-profit and all volunteer-operated organization would like to submit the following thank you note:
Where’s the Wheaties…?
Though we didn’t see a bowl of Wheaties at the “Breakfast of Champions” ceremony hosted by the San Juan Island Community Foundation; we certainly felt a special sense of appreciation from the generous award received that morning. As Rona Cameron, Hospice of San Juan Board of Directors Member and Volunteer, said, “the flame of Hospice will continue to burn.” This grant will be used for training sessions attended by our new and current Volunteers who give their time and hearts to our clients throughout the islands. Thank you!
