Hey! Josh (who used to work at the Ale House till they closed) and Natalie (who works at Griffin Bay Bookstore) are getting married on Valentine's Day!

Hey! Josh (who used to work at the Ale House till they closed) and Natalie (who works at Griffin Bay Bookstore) are getting married on Valentine's Day!

What’s happening as we head into the weekend:

• He who hesitates is lost – Jan from the Community Theatre tells me: “All of the shows for Peter Pan this weekend are sold out!  People can come an hour before each show (6:30) or (1:00 on Sunday) and get on a waiting list to try and get in. Thanks for all your help!”

• At Kings Market, they have Joe Friday’s (you know, the shirt shop below Kings Marine) closed for the season. Don’t worry – they tell me the stock will be moved upstairs so you can still get Friday Harbor clothing as gifts for yourself or others!

Ron & Marie...

Ron & Marie...

• Ran into Marie & Ron DiCristina (right) at Costco yesterday, buying maple syrup. Keeping things sweet.

• Just heard Katie Leed is having a baby later this year – congrats, Katie!

• Reading with dogs…this is an awesome idea! The Animal Shelter is working with the Library to pair up therapy dogs (what dog isn’t a therapy dog?) to help relax kids when they’re reading…awesome idea. They’re calling it Island Tail Tutors. Here’s more about the kick-off.

Proud mom Mandy & Livia....

Proud mom Mandy & Livia....

• You remember Mandy Richardson, who starred for the FHHS soccer (she scored our last goal in 1997) and basketball teams in the 1990s…saw her & her beautiful baby Livia on the ferry last night.

San Juan Wireless announces that Denyse Davis was their Customer Appreciation Drawing Winner. Joy tells me Denyse received a Toshiba Blu-ray DVD player.

She & Denny wanted to say “Thanks!” all of their loyal customers for supporting San Juan Wireless for the island’s cell phone, satellite television, and wireless broadband services.

The true believers were there...

The true believers were there...

• It was fun to watch the Universities of Alabama & Texas in the championship game at Haley’s last night….but, far as I can figure, most folks watched the game at home.

Probably get a bigger crowd if the Huskies get back in it. (I graduated from Alabama, by the way, so I was there, since we don’t have a tv at home….)
