FHHS Athletic Director Rod Turnbull notes that the baseball team has won the league title for the third straight year, and that the track, golf, boys’ soccer, girls’ tennis and softball teams all have their shot in the playoffs, too. Here’s this season’s post-season, as of Wednesday (4/28):

Boys Soccer has one game remaining vs Lynden Christian on Saturday, May 1.  A win in this game would earn them the NW#3 seed, and they would play on Wednesday, May 5, against Coupeville at Coupeville.  A loss on Saturday would make them the NW#4 seed and we would play NW#2, who is yet to be determined, at NW#2 site on Wednesday, May 5.  A win on Wednesday and they would play again on Thursday May 6,  a loss on Wednesday would end their season.

Boys & Girls Golf will be playing May 12 in a District event at North Bellingham golf course.  Individuals who qualify at this event will move on to the Tri-District event on May 18, at Eagle Pride golf course in Tacoma.

Baseball has won the NW1A/2B league title for the third consecutive year.  They have earned at least the NW#4 seed for the District Baseball playoffs. The potential teams they could face are still to be determined, but the most likely scenario would be a home playoff game against Lynden Christian on Wednesday, May 5.  A win in this game would place them in the Saturday double elimination round of District at Pipeline Field in Blaine.  Here they would be playing for seeding positions to the Tri-District tournament on May 12 and May 15.  A loss in the first round game would end their season.

Softball has earned at least the NW#3 seed to the District tournament, which means they will be able to skip a first round play in game this year and move right into the double elimination round of District on Saturday, May 15  at Janicki Field in Sedro Woolley.  These games on Saturday would start at 12:00pm. Win or lose on Saturday, they play again at 2:00pm.  3 teams from the Saturday tournament will advance to the Tri-District Tournament the following weekend, May 22, again at Janicki Field

Girls Tennis will play on Saturday, May 8 at the District Tournament in Coupeville.  The 1st and 2nd place singles and doubles players will advance to the Tri-District tournament at the Nordstrom Tennis Center in Seattle on May 21.

Track will begin their post season at the District meet held at Lynden Christian on May 12 and May 14.  Here individuals will be trying to qualify for the Tri-District Track meet to be held at Kings High School on May 20 and 22.
