Lifeguard training…

Amy from San Juan Fitness says the classes are next month:
Register now for American Red Cross Lifeguard training at San Juan Island Fitness. Classes are tentatively scheduled for May 11 – May 27 on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings. There will be one additional session at a
deepwater pool to be scheduled later.
To qualify for training, participants must be 15 years old on or before March 24, 2009, able to swim 300 yards continuously, and be able to jump in to water over their head and retrieve a 10-pound object.
The cost of the class is $150 and includes book, instructional materials, pocket mask, CPR and First Aid training and admission to the San Juan Island Fitness pool for practice. Class size will be limited to 8 participants. Deadline to register is Friday, May 7.
