San Juan Island Community Foundation Accepting Applications for 2010 Grant Cycle

The San Juan Island Community Foundation is accepting applications for the 2010 grant cycle. Completed applications must be postmarked or received no later than June 1, 2010.

The Community Foundation supports Island nonprofits whose work focuses on arts and culture, basic needs, education, environment, health and wellness, and general community concerns.

Grants are awarded through a competitive process to assure that broad needs of our community are addressed.  Of particular interest are projects that provide partnership opportunities for two or more organizations, that leverage new resources, and/or have long-term impact and lead to self-sustaining programs.  Recipients will be notified in early September, and grants will be awarded at the annual Breakfast of Champions event held at the end of September.

Grant application forms can be downloaded from the San Juan Island Community Foundation website, www.sjicf.org.  Additional information about the process and procedures can also be found on the website.

Applications may be mailed to the San Juan Island Community Foundation, ATTN: Grants Committee, PO Box 1352, Friday Harbor, WA 98250. Applications may also be delivered to the Foundation office in the Technology Center on Mullis St. For more information call 378-1001.

The San Juan Island Community Foundation serves as a nonprofit philanthropic umbrella organization helping donors, nonprofits, and public organizations to achieve their goals through direct grants, organizational assistance, and philanthropic resource management.
