Is your student struggling with school work? Introducing… Study Station!
A great opportunity for students who need help with school assignments or those who just need a place to go study!
Minor Reinforcement, a new, local non-profit, and Friday Harbor Fire Department are working together to provide a space for high school students to study and an opportunity to receive FREE tutoring.

• Bill & Rita are now offering Zumba classes – here’s more:
Dance Happy presents Zumba, a fitness dance-exercise program.
Bill & Rita Ament of Dance Happy have exciting news to bring to the community and to add extra spice to their already fun dance business. Bill is now a certified Zumba Fitness Instructor. Being married to Rita, a native of Cuba, Bill has been directly influenced by the Latin beat. They already teach the ballroom dance styles of Salsa, Merengue, Cha Cha, and Samba (not to mention Swing, Fox Trot & Waltz) as part of their repertoire, so Zumba would, of course, be Bill’s next best thing for the community to participate in to enhance their health and well-being.
Zumba is a Latin-inspired, dance-fitness class that incorporates Latin and international music and dance movements, creating a dynamic, exciting, exhilarating, and effective fitness system. Taught by certified instructors all over the world, a Zumba class, known as a “ZUMBA Fitness Party”, combines fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body using an aerobic/fitness approach to achieve a unique blended balance of cardio and muscle-toning benefits.
Dancers and non-dancers alike immediately and easily master a ZUMBA class. It is a “party-like atmosphere,” Ament says. “It’s a blast, a program that is “exercise in disguise”. It’s different because it has great music, steps, moves and lots of energy. It’s easy because the program is designed for everyone, any fitness level, any background or age. And, it’s effective because it is cardio-based with resistance/sculpting training to tone the entire body, making it a fabulous workout!”
Ongoing classes will be held at Dance Workshop II on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 5:30-6:30pm, starting November 2nd. Additional morning classes will begin November 16th on Tuesday and Thursday, 7:45-8:45am. This way an exercise participant can take one or more classes per week, if they choose.
Call Bill or Rita at 378-9628 to pre-register for this fun fitness program.
