Sound health, and sound life…

It goes without saying that we live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world.
There, I said it.
One of the underappreciated, and sometimes unnoticed, parts of this island: the sounds. And sometimes the absence of them.
We don’t have much in the way of traffic noise or industrial noise or crowd noise…we actually live in a pretty quiet place, which is even quieter in the woods & on the beaches & in the hills. The sounds we do get, without trying, are the wind off the ocean (maybe that’s what the Puget sound really is), the sea when it comes to the sand, the birds who sing just for each other, and to us.
That may be my favorite part of living here – the chance to hear one’s own thoughts, one’s own feelings, one’s own heart.
