Let’s see what’s is going on:
• There will be a public meeting at the Mullis Center this Saturday (1/15) at noon of all concerned parents and community members who want to discuss how to react to the unpopular decision by the school board this week.
• Carol Maas from the Conservation District says there’s an election coming up – here’s more:
The San Juan Islands Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold a regular meeting on Monday, January 24th at 8:30am in the SJICD Office, 540 Guard Street, Friday Harbor. The Board of Supervisors will be setting a date for the San Juan Islands Conservation District Supervisor elections. The meeting is open to the public.
• Just got this note from Jenny – you can help by mentoring a FHHS student for their community project..I’ve done this before & it’s one of the more rewarding things you can do. Here’s more:
The second semester High School Community Service class will begin February 7th. If your organization is interested in mentoring a student this semester, please contact Jenny Wilson at [email protected]. During the first week of class, times are available if you would like to give a presentation to the students. We look forward to hearing from you!
• Felicity of Cakes by Felicitations is getting ready for Valentine’s day – are you? Here’s the deal:
I’m offering a class on February 13th – each person will bake a heart-shaped, chocolate decadence cake, learn how to make and pour chocolate ganache, make a sugar rose and write a custom message on your cake. Boxed and tied with a ribbon, you have a delicious treat for your Valentine! Cost is $55 but less if you sign up early. Go to www.islandrec.org to read about the classes – follow the drop down menu under “Programs” to “Classes by Felicity” and sign up!
