Around the island….

Let’s take a look…
• If it seems like dèja vu all over again, that’s because it is – at the Palace Theatre this weekend it’s Kung Fu Panda 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean (like, 4). Good time for all.
• Psychic awareness of pre-confusion: I was visiting with a friend yesterday about something she had to tell someone, and she said, “I think this will clear up some pre-misconception.”
• Dropped by The Banry Cafe last night to find Gordy & Deanna working hard to get it ready….for next week. They were aiming for this weekend’s Memorial Day holiday, but will head to Spokane for the state softball playoffs in which FHHS is playing on Friday & Saturday, with daughter Lindsey starting for the Wolverines.
• That kinda reminded me of when I was in a thinktank group with four other folks, and one of them said, “Not sure that would work. Seems counterintuitive.”
The guy who proposed the plan said, “Is ‘counterintuitive’ a nice way to say ‘stupid’?” The woman kinda blushed & said, “yeah…..”
• It was great to visit with Anand Khokha (above) yesterday – he splits his time between the island, Los Angeles, and traveling around the world taking the most amazing pictures of people all over. Check out his new work from Burma on his website here. Amazing stuff…you’ve seen his work – he took those familiar photos at the Golden Triangle of unforgettable faces, and Avon has had those pictures up for the past 5-6 years.
