In a press release from the superintendent’s office late yesterday:
Here is an update on the search at the elementary school. Today our search committee met from 8:00 to 4:30 to interview six candidates who are qualified for the position. Each candidate was scored by the thirteen member search committee. Following the interviews, three candidates were selected to interview with the staff and community. The date of the next interviews will be Tuesday, May 31, one week from today.
Each candidate will separately have conversations with staff and community members. The staff portion of the interviews will be held from 3:00 to 4:30 at the elementary school. The staff portion is not open to the public, but from 6:00 to 7:30 the community is invited to speak with each candidate who will have thirty minutes with community members. The names of the finalists and the schedule will be sent out by the end of the week. Staff and community will have the opportunity to provide input on each candidate.
Following the Tuesday interviews, the search team will meet on June 1, the next morning, to debrief staff and community feedback. From there, a job offer will be considered to the successful candidate.
I commend the search committee for their dedication to this task. We will provide the schedule to you as soon as completed.
Rick
