Mary-Brooke & Paul demonstrate ballroom dancing at the Open House for XYZ Movement Arts last Saturday...
Bunch of one-liners for you today:
• Someone on Craigslist (here’s the posting) found a lost dog – here’s what he says:
Cattle male dog with caramel/auburn coloring found on Roche Harbor Rd. not far from cow statues 1-7 Saturday at dusk. No collar and friendly. Wandering in ditch and on road. I have him, please email if this is your dog or you know who it belongs to.

• Full moon tonight! Here’s the place I look to find out stuff like that (besides looking out the window).

• What if (dreaming, which is where we get our better ideas) we could just buy straight from our food providers? A township in Maine has passed a law allowing just that…check this out & see if this isn’t a step in the right direction, in a small place like ours.
Instead of saying “It’s just a dream” it’s time to start saying, “I had this GREAT dream last night – let’s do it!”

So, while the Yakima is getting fixed (it's been down since last Thursday), the 64-vehicle MV Chetzemoka will be pulled from the Keystone/Port Townsend route & the Evergreen State will take over the Anacortes/Friday Harbor route. The Chetzemoka was launched in late 2010, and will look after the interisland run....

• Remember the Twelve Days of Christmas deal that the Chamber of Commerce & Wolf Hollow sponsored last month, where 12 stores around the island were the twelve days? Folks could visit them all & fill out a thing that said they did, and submit it for a $300 dollar basket of stuff from the participating stores. The winner was announced Saturday: Nakiya Scott (seven years old) and her mom (didn’t say) won and received their prizes. Congrats!

Tamara Weaver reports: The fox in the juniper visited our yard last week--so elegant with chocolate brown socks and golden cat-like eyes. Mythical, with a sense of humor.
