The Whittier fills with the sounds of hot jazz in a special fundraiser for Friday Harbor’s Band Families and Friends this Wednesday, March 14 at 7:00 pm
“Jazzin’ it up in Friday Harbor” features a very talented trumpeter from Seattle, Chad McCullough, who will join the island’s One More Time Band and the Friday Harbor High School Jazz Band (under the direction of Matt Frost) on stage.
McCullough is not only a rising star in the world of modern jazz, but as a composer he has scored for film and written for various brass ensembles, dancers and string quartets. He is also an educator who speaks about jazz music and the trumpet to students of all ages as well as conducting clinics at high schools and colleges throughout the country.

Chad is a amazingly talented individual. We played in band together in middle school and high school. His trumpet skills amazed me even when I was 13 (let alone now that he’s a professional). We are blessed to have such an bright individual in our community here that enjoys what he does and also enjoys giving back to his community.
