From the wall to you….for everything, which is yes

My first day at the University of Alabama, way back when…there was a little water-color & handwritten version of this poem on the wall at the rooming house where I stayed. Stuck with me then, and I thought I’d share it with you this morning….
Create a great day!
+++++++++++++
i thank you god for most this amazing
day: for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes
and this is the sun’s birthday; this is the birth
day of life and love and wings: and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)
how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any-lifted from the no
of all nothing-human merely being
doubt unimaginably You?
(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)
~ e. e. cummings

Great poem, Ian. It was put to music many years ago, and the San Juan Singers have sung it in concert. It really makes one think!
