Fish for Teeth!
Posted January 22, 2013 at 8:20 pm by Tim Dustrude
The Tooth Mobile dental van is coming for their 4th visit to San Juan Island this coming Friday, January 25th and Saturday, January 26th. Fish For Teeth sponsors this local volunteer staffed clinic to provide urgent and preventative dental care to island residents who have no discretionary income, no dental insurance and no other financial means by which to pay for dental services.
Applications for treatment can be downloaded at fishforteeth.com, or picked up from and dropped off at the following agencies:
- Health Department – 145 Rhone Street,
- SJI Family Resource Center – Market Street
- The Mullis Center – 589 Nash Street
Applications will be processed the week prior to the clinic by a volunteer dentist whose staff will call the applicants to make appointments. Please note that the folks at the above intake centers do none of the prioritizing or scheduling.
And don’t forget, aside from direct donations, their only fundraiser is the Fish Taco Sale! So plan your lunch around them on Friday, the 25th, in front of Marketplace. Volunteers will be ready to serve you from 11:00 – 2:00.
You can support the San Juan Update by doing business with our loyal advertisers, and by making a one-time contribution or a recurring donation.
