Becki Day wanted me to let you know about the Soroptimists’ big fundraiser coming up this weekend. Here’s Becky to fill you in:
The Soroptimists of Friday Harbor will be holding their biggest and most important fund-raiser of the year, the St. Patrick’s Day Extravaganza, on Saturday, March 16, at the Mullis Center. All proceeds from this fun-filled event will support the service club’s many important activities, which primarily benefit the island’s women and girls.
The doors will open at 5 pm, when guests can start enjoying drinks, appetizers, and music, as well as browse the attractive displays of both silent and live auction items. Tickets for chances at an array of enticing raffle items will be available for sale.
At 6:00, a yummy dinner catered by Vinny’s Ristorante will be served, featuring the traditional corned beef and cabbage, or a vegetarian entrée. After dinner, an entertaining live auction, with a variety of great things to bid on including 2 different Hawaii lodging donations; one is a week’s stay at an oceanfront condo on Kauai and another on Molokai.
Because seating is limited, people are encouraged to buy their dinner tickets ahead of time at the Toy Box or Spa d’Bune, or from any Soroptimist. The tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors (65+), and $10 for children (10 and under). Dinner-to-go tickets are also available for $12 each, available for pick up between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm. Co-chairs Debbi Staehlin, 378-7232 or Becki Day, 298-0458.
