The San Juan Jazz Quintet will be featured in a rare concert setting at St. Davids Episcopal Church on Sunday, April 7th at 4:00 PM in a special fund-raising performance for our local food bank.  The San Juan Jazz Quintet will be performing with special guest artists Jill Urbach on vocals, and Hawk Arps (from Lopez Island) on vibraphone.

St. Davids Church with its high, wooden ceilings provides an acoustically rich venue for the concert.  St. Davids Church is located on the corner of Park and Marguuerite Streets.

Community sponsored food banks now number over 40,000 across the nation.  The economic downturns have challenged even employed families to keep food on the table.  For those out of work, the situation has become dire.  Our own food bank has been stretched to its limits assisting over 140 families per week.  The concert will provide some short term relief to a much larger issue.

Admission is by voluntary cash or check donation in whatever amount is comfortable for those attending.  100% of your donation goes directly to the food bank enabling discounted bulk food purchases.

Located across from Market Place, our Food Bank is open mid-day Wednesdays and Saturday.  They are always looking for people to help out on either of those days in any way they can.  This may be as simple as lifting boxes, sorting foods, or greeting people and helping them feel comfortable.

The concert has been organized by members of the Food Bank Committee of the Episcopal and Lutheran congregations that hold services in the building Sunday mornings.
