Boaters, kayakers, sailors, and those enthralled with coastal British Columbia make sure to cruise along with Jim and Betty Wright to Princess Louisa Inlet at Griffin Bay Bookstore, Saturday night, June 8, 7:00 pm. Betty will present slides and her book, Adventuring to Princess Louisa Inlet, the stories of their many trips to British Columbia’s magnificent Princess Louisa Inlet, first in the 1950s in a 16 foot outboard, and most recently in 2012.

The book contains important cruising information, especially for those with less boating experience. It also includes a handy Appendix and Bibliography. There are descriptions of many moorages, all current to 2012. The book contains more than 250 color photos, describes the rapids at Skookumchuck Narrows, Malibu Young Life, and ends with the story of this majestic inlet, accessible only by boat and float plane, and relatively untouched by human activity. The Princess Louisa International Society has recognized Betty’s concern for the preservation of wild and tranquil places such as the Inlet for future generations.

In her book, Betty stresses safety in cruising, weaving boating rules throughout the story she tells. She uses nautical charts, a good cruising guide, tide and current tables, and a careful study of weather. She shows how you can enjoy Princess Louisa Inlet today even without a boat of your own.
