Popeye

Here’s a beautiful photo by Keith Busha of Popeye the Harbor Seal who used to live down by the port docks here in Friday Harbor. Click it to see it larger.
For those who don’t know, he’s the inspiration for the Seal sculpture down at the Port’s Fairweather Park by the Port office. Haven’t seen Popeye in a long time so it’s great to see this. Thanks for sharing, Keith!

I just talked with Brenda at Friday Harbor Seafoods and she says Popeye is usually gone for a few weeks this time of year. Probably nothing to be worried about.
So, this was a recent picture of Popeye and she’s still alive?
Thank you, Louise. Even though I don’t get down to the marina too often, just knowing she’s alive and kicking is such good news!
Yes, I saw Popeye a couple of weeks ago. Entertaining a family with little kids, like usual. She must be quite old by now?
