Water, Stone and the Woods

There’s a new show opening at Waterworks Gallery and running August 24 through Sept 14:
- Tom Small – Recent Stone, wood and glass sculptures.
- Randall Tipton – Abstract landscape paintings
Tom Small’s recent sculptures worked in cast glass, basalt or wood convey the tactile nature of sculpture yet the designs resonate with elegance and simplicity. While complicated enough to demand our attention in finding the visual details.
Randall’s landscape paintings whether in acrylic or oil portray his love of the land, whether it is the coastline, the mountains or the woodlands. His portrayal, abstracted and seemingly unfinished, allows the viewer to see the landscape in a lighter way.
Each artist captures the spirit of the subject in their respective media with the details and marks, allowing the viewer to bring their own experience to the work.
Reception for the artists, Saturday August 24
