Pie Baking Contest

Dust off your Granny’s recipe for Berry, or Nut Pie and enter the Pioneer Festival Pie Baking Contest.
Do you have a favorite pie? You know the pie that you make for potlucks and everyone asks for the recipe? Or the pie that you bake for your husband when you want him to clean out the garage… That’s that pie that just might win the Pioneer Pie Baking Contest. Bring your pie to the Pioneer Festival by 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 6. No charge to enter. A ribbon, prizes and big bragging rights for the winners – You may even get 15 minutes of fame with a photo in the papers.
Contest rules:
- Pie must be entered in the name of the person who made it. Each contestant may enter as many as 3 pies
- PLEASE – No pies that require refridgeration
(i.e. dairy, cream, or meat pies) - All pies must be homemade
- Pies will be judged on taste, presentation and originality
- One entry form is necessary per pie entered
- Contestants must bring the pie to the Etta Egland Resource Center at the Historical Museum by 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 6th.
- Fill out the registration form.
a. Acknowledge that the entered pies become the property of the Pie Festival and that you do not get your pie back. (You can reclaim your pie plate though.)
b. If you are a winner, you give your permission to have your photo taken during the announcement ceremony and have it used for Pioneer Festival promotional materials, including the website. - A copy of your pie recipe would be appreciated; it may be used in publicity.
- Pie contestants must be present to win.
- Winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded at 11:30 AM at the Pioneer Festival.
