Scarecrow Building
October 4, 10:00 – 1:00, Farmer’s Market/Brickworks
Fall is here and Island Rec is making half-size scarecrows at the Farmer’s Market. Enter your scarecrow creation in the Farm Parade as well. Island Rec will provide the materials needed, though you may bring old small clothes or other supplies you want to put on your own creation. This is a free event and fun for all ages.

Touch-a-Truck
October 10, 11:00-1:00pm, Elementary School
Start your engines and get ready for the ever popular, annual Touch-a-Truck event. Come climb behind the wheels of big rigs of all shapes and sizes, from dump trucks and hook lifts to fire trucks and an army vehicle. This is a don’t-miss-activity for kids of all sizes and ages on an early release school day. This is a free activity and Kiwanis is providing FREE hotdogs. We are also holding a free raffle for a ride in a patrol car.

Fall Adult Ed Programs

  • Adult Archery – On Saturday/Sunday, Oct 4/5 renowned archer Kelby Anderson is teaching a small group archery class for adults 16+. Don’t miss this opportunity to work with this amazing archer ($58).
  • Cooking Tricks of the Trade – Learn tips and tricks from chef Felicity Milne to make your kitchen and your cooking run just a little bit smoother. This is another amazing opportunity to work with an awesome expert; Saturday, Nov 1, 10:00 – 1:00pm ($54).
  • Pottery Painting – Join Megan Yelle for an evening of learning to paint pottery at the Clay Café. Fee includes pottery piece and all supplies; Wed, Nov. 5 6:00 – 9:00pm ($35).
