Town contributes $10,000 to Athletic Association

The Friday Harbor Town Council has authorized a $10,000 contribution to the Friday Harbor Athletic Association to defray a portion of the cost to construct a public sidewalk on Carter Avenue.
Completion of the sidewalk located on the west side of Carter Avenue is a condition of the Friday Harbor Ball Field’s conditional use permit. “While the Athletic Association is responsible for this project, we felt this was the right time for the Town to offer financial assistance,” said Duncan Wilson, Town Administrator. It is anticipated that the sidewalk will be completed in December 2014 or early January 2015.
